Job Title: Fibreoptic Technician

Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk, with regional travel as required
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience

Fibrecom is seeking an experienced Fibreoptic Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of fibre optic telecommunications networks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for underground, underfloor, and aerial fibre installations, fibre splicing and termination, systems testing, fault resolution, and last-mile connectivity to homes and businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Installation and maintenance of fibre optic telecommunications networks, including:

  • Infrastructure installation
  • Laying underground and underfloor fibre optic cabling
  • Installation of aerial fibre optic cabling
  • Fibre blowing, re-routing, and home installations
  • Splicing, termination, testing, and fault resolution
  • Identifying underground utilities prior to installation work
  • Installing and maintaining fibre network equipment
  • Upgrading existing network infrastructure
  • Customer liaison
  • Maintaining accurate job records and updates
  • Working in customers’ homes, businesses, and outdoor environments in all weather conditions

Experience Required

  • 2–3 years’ experience in overhead and underground cabling
  • Experience with re-routing, home installations, and fibre blowing preferred
  • Monday.com administration experience advantageous

Qualifications Required

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Training in overhead and underground safety preferred
  • N23/N27/N28, NRSWA, Confined Spaces, and First Aid certifications advantageous
